Chairman, Revenue Committee, Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government, Pastor Ayo Jeje, has warned residents to desist from paying the Local Government permits to staff of the LG.

He made this known at the monthly Community Development Committee (CDC) meeting held on Tuesday at CDC hall.

Speaking to community leaders, Pastor Jeje said that Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) is key for every government to carry out their basic functions.

According to him, if the LG will increase its IGR, residents need to pay their permits directly to the bank and not to any individual.

“Nobody should pay any money to staff and that all money should be paid to the bank after bills have been given to residents,” he said.

He also assured that the Prince Usman Hamzat-led administration is working on harmonising the database of residents in the Local Government while enumerators will commence work on that.

Pastor Jeje urged Community Development Associations (CDAs) to help collate the number of houses and shops within their communities.
